Get to Know the Artist

Hi, I'm Arielle - pronounced like the letters R-E-L (and no, not like The Little Mermaid, though I've always secretly wanted the red hair.) Most people call me Ari.

I'm a Sacramento-based artist who has been creating since I was 8 years old. I started college as an art major, chickened out, and graduated with a degree in Communications, but art never really let me go. For most of my life, my medium was pen and pencil. It wasn't until the last couple of years that I picked up a paintbrush.

I sold my very first piece to my high school art teacher at 14, and over the years I received so much encouragement about my art from the people around me. But it took a life-changing event to finally take the leap. What was that life-changing event? I lost my job. Now I paint full-time out of my home studio, surrounded by my husband and 70+ plants — yes, really.

My art is cartoony, whimsical, and a whole lot of fun. I love bold colors and playful subjects. I also take commissions, so if you have something special in mind, I'd love to bring it to life for you!
